Terms of Use

Last updated: October 1, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and ABS Nexus LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company with its registered address at 30 N Gould St, STE R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA ("ABS Nexus", "we", "us" or "our"). ("BiblioCite") is a product owned and operated by ABS Nexus LLC. These Terms govern your access to and use of the website, applications, APIs, training and affiliate programmes and related services (the "Services").

Please read these Terms carefully. Section 16 contains a binding arbitration agreement and class-action waiver that affect how disputes are resolved. By creating an account, clicking "I agree" or using the Services, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Services on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organisation.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Services. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Services only with the consent of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms. You may not use the Services if you are barred from doing so under US or other applicable law, including US export-control and sanctions laws.

2. Accounts and security

  • Give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password and two-step verification methods confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • Accounts are personal. Do not share sign-in details or let several people use one seat, except through the team and institution features designed for that purpose.

3. The Services

BiblioCite provides tools for importing, cleaning, screening and analysing bibliographic data, matching journal rankings, conducting meta-analyses, extracting evidence with AI assistance and producing reports. We may add, change or remove features over time. Features labelled "beta", "preview" or "coming soon" are provided as they are and may change or be withdrawn.

We aim to keep the Services available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend access for maintenance, security or reasons outside our control.

4. Plans, billing and automatic renewal

  • Plans. We offer a Free plan and paid plans (currently Plus, Premium and Elite), as well as institutional plans. Features and limits for each plan are shown on our Pricing page.
  • Prices. Prices are set in US dollars and may be shown in your local currency for convenience. Your bank or card issuer may apply exchange rates or foreign-transaction fees. Prices exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
  • Automatic renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing term (monthly, quarterly, yearly or two-yearly, as selected) at the then-current price, and your payment method will be charged unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term, and you keep access until then.
  • Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price increase, which applies from your next renewal. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the renewal date.
  • AI credits. Paid plans include a monthly allowance of AI credits (and AI writer words) that resets each month and does not carry over. Credit and word packs bought separately are used after your monthly allowance and remain available while your account is open. They have no cash value and are not transferable.
  • Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may retry it and, after notice, downgrade your account to the Free plan. Your content is kept, but some features and records over the Free plan's limits may become read-only.
  • Institutional plans are billed by invoice under the order form or agreement with the institution, which prevails over this section if they conflict.
  • Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

5. Your content

"Your Content" means the files, data, text, decisions, reports and other material you upload to or create with the Services. You keep all ownership rights in Your Content.

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit and display Your Content only as needed to provide, secure and support the Services for you and the people you share it with, including sending relevant parts to our AI provider when you use an AI feature. This licence ends when you delete Your Content, except for copies kept in backups for a limited period or as required by law.

You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload Your Content, and that it does not violate any law, third-party right (including database providers' licence terms) or these Terms. Many citation databases restrict how their exports may be used and shared; you are responsible for complying with those terms.

6. AI-generated output

AI features generate suggestions, extractions, summaries and draft text ("Output") using machine-learning models. Output may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. You are responsible for reviewing Output, checking it against the original sources and deciding whether to use it. Output is not professional, medical, legal or statistical advice. As between you and us, you own the Output you generate, to the extent permitted by law, but similar Output may be generated for other users.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break any law or regulation, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • upload malware, or probe, scan, overload or attack the Services or their security;
  • access the Services by automated means (such as scrapers or bots) except through interfaces we provide;
  • copy, resell, sublicense or make the Services available to third parties, or use them to build a competing product;
  • reverse engineer the Services, except where the law expressly permits this despite this restriction;
  • share accounts, circumvent plan limits, seat limits or credit limits, or misuse free trials, referral links or promotions;
  • upload protected health information, or sensitive personal data about identifiable individuals, without a lawful basis;
  • use the Services to harass others, send spam, or create misleading or fraudulent academic work, such as fabricated data or citations.

8. Intellectual property

The Services, including their software, design, text, graphics, logos, journal-ranking compilations (to the extent of our rights) and documentation, are owned by ABS Nexus LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Services for your own research, teaching or internal business purposes. "BiblioCite", "", "ABS Nexus" and related logos are trademarks of ABS Nexus LLC; you may not use them without our written permission.

Journal rankings (such as ABS/AJG, ABDC, FT50, UTD24, SCImago and Journal Citation Reports) belong to their respective owners and are provided for reference. We do not guarantee their accuracy or completeness.

9. Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or payment to you.

We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Send notices to our designated agent at [email protected] or 30 N Gould St, STE R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA. Include your signature, the work you claim is infringed, the material and where it is located, your contact details, a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorised, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act. We may disable repeat infringers' accounts.

11. Third-party services

The Services work with third-party services such as payment processors, sign-in providers, citation databases and AI providers. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with notice where reasonable, if you breach these Terms, create risk or possible legal exposure for us, fail to pay, or if we stop offering the Services. If we end the Services for reasons other than your breach, we will refund any prepaid fees for the unused part of your term. You can export Your Content for 30 days after termination, except where termination is for a serious breach or is required by law. Sections 5 to 9 and 13 to 18 survive termination.

13. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES AND ALL OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT ANALYSES, RANKINGS, STATISTICS OR AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE FOR PUBLICATION. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING RESULTS BEFORE RELYING ON THEM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THESE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ABS NEXUS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL OR RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM AND (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US $100). THESE LIMITS APPLY TO ALL THEORIES OF LIABILITY AND EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.

15. Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless ABS Nexus LLC and its members, officers, employees and agents from any third-party claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Services or your breach of these Terms or of any law.

16. Dispute resolution and arbitration

Informal resolution. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

Binding arbitration. If we cannot resolve it, you and ABS Nexus LLC agree that any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules (or Commercial Arbitration Rules for business users). The arbitration will take place in Wyoming or by video conference, unless the parties agree otherwise. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, we will pay any AAA filing fees beyond what you would pay to file in court.

Class-action waiver. YOU AND WE AGREE THAT CLAIMS MAY BE BROUGHT ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, CONSOLIDATED OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.

Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, or seek an injunction in court to protect intellectual property or stop unauthorised use of the Services.

Opt-out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing [email protected] within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, stating your name, account email and that you opt out of arbitration.

If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim must be decided in court and not in arbitration.

17. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to section 16, the state and federal courts located in Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction, and you and we consent to their personal jurisdiction. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of the place where you live.

18. General

  • Changes. We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in the Services. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept them.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms, the policies they link to and any order form are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
  • Severability and waiver. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver.
  • Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
  • Export control. You will comply with US export-control and sanctions laws when using the Services.
  • Notices. We send notices to your account email. Send legal notices to [email protected] and ABS Nexus LLC, 30 N Gould St, STE R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA.
  • California users. Under California Civil Code section 1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.
